About the event
THE WINTER SOLSTICE: A WOMENS WEEKEND RETREAT FOR GRIEF & GRATITUDE
The winter solstice is the longest night of the year. The word means "sun standing still," and for a few days the light pauses at its lowest point before beginning its slow return.
For thousands of years, people have gathered to meet this darkness. At Newgrange in Ireland, a stone chamber older than the pyramids was built to catch the solstice sunrise. In Persian tradition, families keep vigil through the longest night with poetry and pomegranates. In Chinese cosmology, it's the moment darkness reaches its fullest and the light is born again. Across cultures, the practice is the same: turn inward, gather close, and trust the light will return.
This intimate weekend carries that practice forward, honoring what's been lost and reconnecting with what remains.
